The Floral Designers Society (Singapore) is a non-profit organization committed to establishing and maintaining higher standards in professional floral design.
Since its establishment in 1997, FDSS has presented a trail of unparalleled floral events such as the Singapore Floral Heritage - a parade of floral styles, trends and cultures from 1950s to new Millennium in 1999; Wedding Romances in 2000; inaugural National floristry competitions with co-organizer CUGE-National Parks Board and not forgetting the spectacular "FDSS DREAM BALL" featuring floral haute-couture in March 2012.
The recent 9th INTERNATIONAL FDSS CUP FLORAL DESIGNING COMPETITION held in conjunction with Singapore Garden Festival 2014 [SGF] took place on Saturday 16th August 2014. 49 floral designers and enthusiasts rose to the challenge and showcased an outstanding array of floral artistry. Pan Lei from China emerged victorious as the Champion in Professional category and Edward Khoo Ghee Boon from Malaysia claimed top position in the Amateur category. Most innovative design awards which were underwritten by LEAF magazine (Korea) went to Ku Weng Tong (Macau) and Liao Wen-Hao (Taiwan). Congratulations to all competitors for your selfless sharing of talent and showmanship.
Members of FDSS are also widely known to be in the forefront of floral artistry. Members Thong Weng Seng and Christina Pang who participated in the Table-Top Decor and Floral Windows [SGF2014] respectively were accorded Silver awards for their floral displays. Member Laurel Teo received a merit prize [Amateur Category] in the 9th International FDSS Cup Floral Designing Competition. Congratulations! You have flown FDSS flag high.
