WoW! What an AGM!
We started the day with our meeting proper and was a smooth and effective one. We took this opportunity to highlight our FDSS Education Fund and Stars of FDSS Awards.
And it was the right timing for the launch of our 25th anniversary commemorative book. A handy note book with members submitting design entires and a selection committee put together a collection of floral works featured in it.
Immediately upon closing of meeting. We were excited to welcome; via teleconferencing, world renowned international floral master Gregor Lersch.
He captivated the audience with his wit, designs, knowledge and skills presenting numerous signature pieces with floral sustainability as his theme.
Lunch was served. Buffet it is. Yes, you saw correctly, buffet! What better timing can we get? After setting the date for AGM, safe management measure for covid in Singapore has been relaxed and we are allow to help ourselves in selecting and serving food individually.
What a great feeling to be able to “shop” the buffet line and pick up ones food personally.
Members and guests were welcomed to simple yet effective use of floral at dinning tables and enjoyed friendship both new and old over lunch.
Hands on was up next and participants were given materials that would allow them to express their creativity inspired by Gregor’s design.
Time passes so quickly when you are having great floral moments. It was time to have Gregor back and each and everyone had a moment to share their work with him. Gregor was detailed in giving his advices and sharing his thoughts in each piece of work.
Participants told us they were challenged, learnt new concepts, ideas, techniques and most importantly having a marvellous experience.
Each contributing member for the commemorative book received a copy of the book with a 25th anniversary logo printed tote bag.
Members and guests were supportive as they purchased more copies for themselves. Thank you for the support.
Before we close the day, all participants received a specially made FDSS 25th anniversary cookie gifted by one of our trade member – Singapore Flower Club. Thank you for the warm thought, much appreciated.
AND, it’s pack up, clean up and till our next event, stay safe and happy!
